Power of a Logo (and why we need your help)
Logo’s are important for companies. They become identification cards for who you are and what you do, even if the logo itself fails to mention your company name or what you actually provide. Personally I’m a fan of the logos that are a bit on the abstract end and make you at least ask the question, “What do they do?”. Too often people try to cram everything into a logo in hopes that they will convey exactly what they do in some quick visual.
Logo design is an art and it should be done by professionals. As a marketing director I can certainly lend my overall thinking to the logo and what it should convey, but ultimately those with much more artistic sense than myself create the logo (or should). Thus why I struggled with creating something this past month and launched the site with no logo.
Do you have logo creation skills? Want to create our new logo? I’m asking for help from those that have read me at the old blog and over here at the new one. We need a logo! Here are the details:
- I only have $100 to give the winning entry or, if you prefer, I will donate the $100 to the charity of your choice.
- The logo should reflect the mission of this blog, to educate people on the various disciplines of marketing.
- I do not like the color purple (the actual color, not the book).
- The logo should include the name of the blog, Dance With Strangers.
That’s it!
Think you have a cool logo, email me (kffbos at gmail.com) the file and depending on how many entries we get we will potentially put it to a community vote.
